Pre-requisites
This training is open to students from a range of backgrounds, and we welcome those joining for both personal deepening and professional development. While there are no formal entry requirements, we do ask that all trainees come prepared to engage fully with the process.
Before applying, please ensure you meet the following:
-
A minimum of one year of consistent yoga practice (on average at least one class per week)
A good foundational understanding of vinyasa yoga, including familiarity with basic sequencing, common postures, and breath-led movement
-
Willingness and capacity to engage in a physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding group programme
Openness to self-reflection, feedback, and learning in community
A positive attitude, curiosity, and genuine desire to learn
-
Prior to the start of the training, all accepted students will be asked to:
Attend three vinyasa yoga classes with three different teachers
Attend three non-vinyasa classes (e.g. Yin, Iyengar, Kundalini, Restorative, Katonah, etc.)
Take brief notes on each class, reflecting on:
Teaching style and presence
Sequencing and pacing
Use of language and cueing
Music (or lack of it)
How the teacher entered the space and held the room
How your body and nervous system felt during and after practice
These reflections are not assessed, but are designed to support your awareness as both a practitioner and an emerging teacher. You’ll be asked to bring these notes with you to the training.
-
There will be a small amount of pre-training reading and viewing shared ahead of the course
This is not about “getting it right”, but about arriving prepared and engaged
As with all meaningful learning experiences, the depth of what you receive from this training will be shaped by what you’re willing to bring to it — attention, commitment, honesty, and care.
If you’re unsure whether this training is right for you, we’re always happy to have a conversation before you apply.
